because i don't defend EVERYTHING.
Twilight, to me personally, suffers from what i call the "Titanic Effect".
I tend to be biased against things that are over-hyped. the only thing that drives me away from something more than unreasonable hype is unreasonable hype from crazy tweens and teeny-bopper girls.
Case in point: Titanic? a good movie, but all the hype about it being the greatest movie ever and millions of girls watching it 13452346 times just really, really made me want to hate it.
so after watching a good movie through shit-colored lenses, it kinda evened out to an alright movie.
and that was the critically acclaimed Titanic.
this is a romance novel about a sparkley vampire written for the Teen Beat demographic.
sooo, to be perfectly honest, Twilight MAY very well be a good story/book/movie. but there is just something so inherently obnoxious about the buzz surrounding it that i can't help but NOT want to like it. Yes, i am biased. but at least i acknowledge that it IS a bias.
