so my newest story was slated* to be a comic book script, on accounta i don't feel like working on TV scripts (and the pessimist in me says the TV writing path is not looking so great right now).
BUT... i came to the realization that breaking into comic book writing (a dream NOT yet crushed**) is a complicated path as well, for several reasons, but here's one a big one:
even if i finish a comic script, the product is LESS than HALF done.
comics are a visual medium, and depend so much on the art. and even if an artist*** agreed to be the penciler and inker for my comic****, it would require them to put in as much time and effort as i did, if not more*****. and that's asking a LOT.
this in mind, i've decided to attempt to write my next story, "Babel Country," in PROSE.
yes, prose and i have not always gotten along. but at least this way i'll have something complete that's entirely my own, and it's success or failure****** will be on my shoulders.
we'll see how it goes.*******
*okay, maybe not actually "slated," but it sounds professional

******* This is commonly what i say before embarking on most of my projects, which usually end up as entire 8oz glasses of failure.
