Murder in Small Town X - Back when reality shows were still novel and studios put effort into them, this show put contestants in a town full of actors, to figure out which of a list of suspects was the killer in a progressivley unfolding murder mystery. nowadays, we get Room Raiders.
Gargoyles - you may have watched it, but chances are you didn't follow it. did you catch the plot lines about Arthurian legend? the Illuminati? Crossovers with Shakespeare's Macbeth and Midsummer Night's Dream? Time travel and cyborgs? as much as i loved that show the first time around, it's THAT much better when you watch every episode, and are not 10 years old.
Transformers: Beast Wars - every one jocks the original transformers because it's "old school" and retro-hot-topic-t-shirt cool. i'll be honest, the autobots were a smidge before my time, so i don't have the nerd-cred to claim Autobots. but i absolutely claim Maximals. abandon your hang ups about the new school (which is now also old school) and revisit one of the best american action cartoons ever.
Arrested Development - really, as good as TV comedy gets. this show was BURIED in emmy's and critical acclaim, and it was worth every bit of the hype. but Fox, being the marketing wizards that they were, managed to screw up another masterpiece (see Firefly). great use of interweaving story lines and running jokes, amazing writing, and a PERFECT cast.
and finally...
Firefly - Joss Whedon is a genius. Firefly is a masterpiece. Fox ran the episodes out of order and put it up against baseball. Now the masterpiece is dead. Meanwhile, Fox gives the Hell's Kitchen guy a second show. a SECOND show.
someone deserves to be bludgeoned for this.
